For which problems
For any problem between a consumer and a company/tradesman located outside Belgium in one of the Member States of the European Union + Norway and Iceland.
The ECC provides information and advice concerning consumer rights and acts as a mediator through the ECC network in order to reach an amicable settlement.
The UK ECC continues to carry out its missions in collaboration with the ECC network. Therefore, if you have a dispute with a company located in the United Kingdom, you can still contact the Belgian ECC.

Prerequisites for access
The dispute must concern at least one Belgian consumer and a tradesman from another Member State of the European Union + Norway and Iceland.
How does it work
The ECC gives information on consumer rights as well as legal advice and tries – if necessary – to solve the dispute amicably by contacting the equivalent service in the tradesman’s country of origin.
In case of failure, the parties can still try arbitration or take the matter to a court.
