Deep sea mining: Belgian contractors

Up to now, twenty-nine exploration contracts have been awarded by the International Seabed Authority, including one to a Belgian company.

On the 14^th of January 2013, Global Sea Mineral Resources nv and the International Seabed Authority signed a contract for the exploration of polymetallic nodules in the Clarion-Clipperton Fracture Zone (west of Mexico).
