ICSMS (Internet-based Information and Communication System for Europe wide cross-border Market Surveillance of technical products) is a European system that contains information on product safety and makes it available on the internet.
The information mainly comes from control activities conducted by the authorities and concerns both dangerous and non-dangerous products.
The ICSMS website has both an internal and a public section. Only the authorities have access to a large part of the database, containing test results, contact details of manufacturers and distributors, photos and other confidential information. The public section is intended for consumers and manufacturers. It includes public information on dangerous products and voluntary warnings and recalls by the industry, among other things.
