Related rights are similar to copy right in the prerogatives they confer. Their purpose is to protect the artistic or financial contribution put into literary and artistic creation.
They benefit three types of contributors:
- The performers, for their performances and interpretations of works : they are singers, musicians, dancers, actors, etc.
- The producers of phonograms and films for the records and films they finance,
- The broadcasting organizations for the programs they broadcast.
