Uninsured vehicle or unavoidable accident

The Belgian Common Guarantee Fund (FCGB) intervenes to repair damage caused by a motor vehicle:

• when no company providing civil insurance for vehicles is obliged to repair the damage because the insurance obligation is not met; 
• when no company providing civil insurance for vehicles is obliged to repair due to an unavoidable accident exonerating the driver of the vehicle that caused the accident;
• if, within two months of the accident, it is impossible to identify the insurance company.
