On 25 November, the General Directorate of Energy of the Federal Public Service Economy launched a tender procedure for the assignment of a domain concession. This concession concerns the construction and operation of an offshore wind farm with a capacity of 700 MW in the first parcel of the Princess Elisabeth Zone, located in the Belgian part of the North Sea.

This first step is part of the federal government's decision to increase the current total capacity of 2,261 MW of offshore wind energy, by 2030 by adding an additional capacity ranging from 3.15 GW to 3.5 GW in the Princess Elisabeth Zone.

The winner of this competitive procedure will receive the necessary authorisations and permits for the construction and operation of offshore installations dedicated to the production of electricity from renewable energy sources.
