Know the goods and services market
Supervise the goods and services market
Stimulate the goods and services market
The goal of the FPS Economy is to stimulate the competitiveness of our companies by resolutely adhering to the Lisbon Strategy which was agreed upon by the European Union. In order to do this, the FPS Economy is developing its activities in the service of three objectives.
In order to increase the competitiveness of our companies, the FPS Economy is developing deep knowledge of markets, their structure and their needs. It provides the political, economic and academic worlds with relevant and reliable statistics as well as sectoral analysis. It also provides economic information which is indispensible for the profitability of businesses located in Belgium.
Any measure of support for economic development could be wiped out by anti-competitive practices in the goods and services market. Therefore, it falls upon the FPS Economy to supervise and monitor the markets in order to stimulate the competitiveness of our companies. To that end, the FPS Economy:
The FPS Economy is not only a market observer or regulator. It also provides the momentum needed to stimulate the market in order to improve its efficiency and competitiveness. To achieve this, the FPS Economy has two modes of leverage: innovation and external competitiveness. Due to its horizontal nature, innovation is integrated into all of the FPS’s policies (SME, energy, telecommunications, competition, etc.). Concerning external competitiveness, the FPS Economy supports Belgian businesses by helping them gain a better position on the international market.
