Counterfeits
You are a consumer or a merchant and you feel aggrieved by the marketing of products which do not look the same as you would expect from a high quality product. You suspect it is a counterfeit.
As the holder of an intellectual property right, you feel aggrieved by the damage done to your intellectual property right.
Who should I contact if I have purchased counterfeit goods?
The DGEM can process your complaint if it is fraud committed on the domestic Belgian market.
How can I submit a complaint to the DGEM ?
A few examples:
- a merchant sells, or has already sold you, counterfeit goods;
- you hold an intellectual property right that others are using without your permission;
- an unauthorised organisation offers you protection.
- the border controls of the European Union are the responsibility of the FPS Finance (Belgian customs and Excise), whether monitoring goods at ports, airports or on roads, and monitoring parcels.
