Non-renewable energy - Oil
Oil consists mainly of the products of crude oil refining. A distinction is normally made between light distillates (gasoline), medium distillates (gas oil, kerosene) and heavy distillates (fuel oil). Other products, such as Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Propane, Butane) and some lubricants (engine oils) are also derived from crude oil refining.
The DG Energy calculates the maximum prices of certain petroleum products via the programme contract. It also ensures the quality of petroleum products via FAPETRO.
Gathering data on oil is also one of the DG Energy’s tasks (oil audit).
